How to choose acrylic emulsion

2018-03-20

Acrylic emulsion coatings can be divided into styrene acrylic copolymer emulsion, acrylic acid tertiary ethylene carbonate copolymer emulsion, silicone acrylic copolymer emulsion and acrylic copolymer emulsion according to the composition of polymer. According to the film characteristics, it can be divided into thermoplastic emulsion, thermosetting emulsion and elastic emulsion. According to the property of particle charge, it can be divided into anionic emulsion, cationic emulsion and nonionic emulsion. It can be divided into internal use emulsion, external emulsion and special emulsion according to its use.

Requirements for emulsion:
1.The appearance should be fine colloid, no coarse particles and machine impurities.
2.The solid content should be of practical significance. In general, those with high solid content have stronger adhesion ability.
3.There is no significant difference in pH and viscosity between batches.
4.The lower the residual monomer content, the smaller the better, the usual regulation is not more than 0.5% (mass).
5.Suitable minimum film forming temperature and vitrification temperature.
6.Better pigment affinity and adhesion to the base material.
7.Excellent chemical stability, mechanical stability and dilution stability.
8.Excellent low temperature stability, low coating water absorbability and excellent aging resistance.
